Vladimir Putin New Year Message: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday (December 30) greeted President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the New Year. According to HT report, in his message Putin emphasized that despite the challenging global circumstances, relations between India and Russia are growing at a rapid pace. Apart from this, the Russian President acknowledged the important progress and bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the last year.

It said that trade between the two countries grew at an exceptionally high rate in the outgoing year and joint projects have been successfully implemented in various sectors.

Putin has said that cooperation between the two countries is important for promoting bilateral relations and efforts to enhance security and stability at the regional and global levels.

Moscow and New Delhi will continue to develop relations – Putin

A statement issued by the Russian President’s office said, “Vladimir Putin appreciated the results of India’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the G20 and stressed his firm belief that Moscow and New Delhi will continue to develop multidimensional bilateral relations.” We will continue to do so and effectively coordinate efforts to strengthen security and stability at the regional and global levels.

How was Putin’s meeting with Foreign Minister Jaishankar?

Recently, Russian President Putin had talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who was on an official visit to Moscow. Jaishankar was in Moscow from 25 to 29 December. Putin had discussed with him on 28 December.

During the meeting with Jaishankar, Putin had mentioned PM Modi’s constructive stance on complex global events, including the situation in Ukraine. He had said, “We know the stand of Prime Minister Modi and we have mentioned it repeatedly on many occasions…”

‘I know that PM Modi is ready to try his best’

Putin had said, “Many times, I told him how things are going on there and I know that he (PM Modi) is ready to do his best so that the issue can be resolved through peaceful means.” Said, “So we will probably go into depth now and give you additional information at that time.”

The Russian President had said, “We are happy to know that despite all the turmoil happening around the world, relations with our true friend India in Asia are continuously progressing.”
