Not only this, the company has also released the data for the first quarter of FY 2024-25. In the first quarter, the company has managed to reduce its losses. However, the company has suffered a loss in terms of users. The number of active users of Vi has come down from 19.33 crores to 18.83 crores.
The effect of increasing mobile tariff is visible on the company. The CEO of the company admitted that many users of Vi have ported their numbers to the government telecom company BSNL. However, the company is confident that users can once again join Vi. Let us tell you that after the increase in mobile tariff, lakhs of users have shifted to BSNL, out of which 2.5 lakh are those users who were already taking the service of private telecom companies.
Big update regarding Vi 5G service
Vodafone-Idea CEO said that the company has finalized 4G network expansion and commercial 5G deployment long term contracts. The company is in discussions with Ericsson and Nokia to roll out 5G service. If everything goes well, the company will launch its 5G service. Akshay Mundra said that 5G service will be launched in some places soon. Along with this, 4G network is also being expanded.
Why is there a delay?
The CEO said that the company has used Chinese equipment in many telecom circles of the country. The company also wants to end the discussions regarding long term contracts soon so that 5G service can be launched as soon as possible. At present, the company is facing tough competition from Jio and Airtel.
