Ranchi. A young man from Bihar’s East Champaran started a handi mutton shop, which has become a huge hit in 5 years. People wait for 3-3 hours to eat here. Along with eating, they also pack and take home. Balveer Singh, who lives in Argoda, had set up a shop named Salaiva Handi Mutton near Dibdih bridge, which is now famous all over Ranchi. Balveer Singh says that special flavored mutton of East Champaran is available at his shop. He provides the flavor of his region through famous recipes, which are not found anywhere else in Ranchi.
In a conversation with News18, Balveer told that he uses his own prepared spices in mutton. 75 types of gote spices are dried in the sun and grinded with their hands. They claim that everything from ghee to oil is of number one quality. Water is not used in mutton at all. Cooked in spices and oil on coal flame in about 4 hours, fresh meat of Khasi is cooked in this recipe.
Here, Balveer says that 80 to 90 kg of mutton is consumed daily at the shop. Out of this, 30 to 40 kg is parcel only. People prefer to take a complete handi mutton. Means 1 kg. Its price is 1500 rupees. By the way, one plate of mutton costs Rs 150, which consists of 2 pieces. Apart from mutton, chicken, lachha paratha and plain paratha are also available here.
