Waqf Board Bill: There was a huge uproar again on Tuesday (22 October) in the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee formed regarding the Waqf Board. During the uproar, Kalyan Banerjee got so angry that he threw a glass water bottle on the table. JPC President Jagdambika Pal had a narrow escape. However, during this time Kalyan Banerjee himself got injured, his finger got hurt.
If sources are to be believed, there was a heated argument between retired Justice Ganguly and Kalyan Banerjee during the meeting and then Kalyan Banerjee angrily threw a water bottle on the table to such an extent that he got injured in his own hand. Due to the injury, he had to get stitches on his hand. After this, JPC President Jagdambika Pal somehow handled the matter.

If sources are to be believed, after getting injured, Kalyan Banerjee was immediately taken for first aid, where he also got four stitches on his hands. After medical aid, a video surfaced, in which it is seen that Kalyan Banerjee is being taken back to the meeting room by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.

Banerjee wanted to speak in the meeting
This debate took place in the JPC meeting during the meeting with the Odisha group. In the meeting, Justice in Reality, Cuttack, Odisha and Panchasakha Prachar Bani Mandali, Cuttack, Odisha were presenting their suggestions. Many prominent personalities including retired judges and Supreme Court lawyers were present in the meeting, but Kalyan Banerjee wanted to present his point even though he had already been talked to thrice and he wanted to get a second chance during the presentation, regarding which BJP MP Abhijeet Gangopadhyay raised objection.

Sources said that Kalyan Banerjee used abusive language against Abhijit Gangopadhyay, but both sides have claimed that abusive language has been used. Meanwhile, Kalyan Banerjee picked up the glass water bottle kept there and threw it on the table and hurt himself. After this he threw the broken bottle towards the chairman. Due to this incident the meeting was adjourned for some time.
