A similar video has been in discussion on social media for quite some time now. Online footage from 1938 has created quite a stir among time travel enthusiasts. They claim that this is proof of time travel. But what the grandson of the same girl has to say is difficult for many people to believe.
In the intriguing film clip, which captured people walking towards the camera, many viewers noticed a young woman holding an unusual object on the side of her head. This led to further speculation that the woman might be talking on a mobile phone, even though it was not invented until decades later.
A woman wearing a stylish 1930s dress appears to lower the object, which is about the same dimensions as a modern mobile phone, to her ear. The story deepened when a YouTuber claimed that the woman in the viral clip was none other than his great-grandmother Gertrude Jones, who he claimed was actually using the mobile phone.

According to PlanetCheck, the wireless phone Gertrude was using was an experimental device developed by industrial giant DuPont at its factory in Leominster, Massachusetts. The user said, “The woman you see is my great-grandmother Gertrude Jones. She was 17 years old. I asked him about this video and he remembered it well. She says there was a telephone communications department in the DuPont factory.”
He said, “They were experimenting with wireless telephones. Gertrude and five other women were given these wireless phones to test for a week. Gertrude is holding another wireless phone talking to one of the scientists who is to her right as she walks.
It still remains a mystery whether the footage is actually proof of time travel or a fascinating glimpse of an experimental wireless phone from the past. Because many people say that it is not so easy to believe even the words of Gertrude’s grandson.
