Inspired by a painful experience in 2005, Amar Yadav resolved to provide free water to the people. Today, he spends around Rs 2 lakh every year to deliver water to many areas of Burhanpur through four tankers. His service is completely free—from water to the cost of petrol and driver of the tanker, he bears everything himself.
How the incident changed life
Talking to Local 18, Amar Yadav mentioned his inspiration and said that our family used to do farming and we had many animals. Due to shortage of water in summer, we brothers and sisters used to fetch water from a distance of 2-3 kilometers by bullock cart. Once, one of our animals died due to lack of water. This incident left a deep impression on my heart. That’s when I decided to do something to solve the water problem in the society.
Amar Yadav initially bought one tanker, but today he has four tankers with which he provides water to the needy. Be it a wedding, water shortage in an area during summers, or any other auspicious occasion – Amar Yadav’s tankers are always there to help.

For this unique service work of Amar Yadav, till now he has been honored by more than a dozen social organizations and district administration. He claims that he has spent more than Rs 40 lakh on this service in 20 years. Amar Yadav says that it is my resolve that I will continue doing this work as long as I am alive.
