Wajid was born on 7 October 1977 in a family of skilled people. Father was the famous tabla player Sharafat Ali Khan. My maternal grandfather was also Padma Shri awardee Ustad Faiyaz Ahmed Khan. Music was found in the blood itself.
Composed music for a film for the first time in 1998 and then composed music for a non-film album. He was very fond of playing the guitar. Brother Sajid often says that Wajid was an introvert but he had the skill to express his views beautifully and he misses that style.

Gave music in many films like Garv, Tere Naam, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Partner and also in Dabangg, Dabangg 2 and Dabangg 3. Apart from this, Wajid also lent his voice in Salman’s Mera Hi Jalwa, Fevicol Se and Akshay Kumar’s song Chinta Ta Chita Chita.
Wajid married the girl of his choice. It is said that the wall of religion later came in the way and the two separated. Both of them have two children from this marriage. Wajid died on 1 June 2020 due to cardiac arrest.
Just a month before this, sister-in-law Lubna had donated a kidney. Wajid was moving forward while battling the illness but then he succumbed to death and this ‘Dabangg’ departed from this world.
