‘We could not pay that much attention to agricultural development’, what did Vice President Dhankhar say on the issue of farmers

Jagdeep Dhankhar On Farmer: Vice President of the country Jagdeep Dhankhar attended the Natural and Organic Farmers Summit-2024 organized by ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Medak, Telangana. He said in the program that I strongly believe that we have not been able to pay as much attention to agriculture and agricultural development as we should have. There have been some changes in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, but pay attention to their budget. There are thousands of scientists here, about 5,000. About 25,000 people are employed. The budget is more than Rs 8,000 crore. Who are we doing research for? Whose life are we trying to change? Is there any change coming in his life?

The Vice President further said in the program that the time has come to assess these institutions. The best way to do this is self-assessment. We will do work to provide relief to the farmers. Will make farmers aware. If even 100 farmers come to these institutions every day, there will be a big change. I request the government, people working in these institutions, elected representatives and Eklavya Rural Development including such institutions to make such arrangements for the welfare of the farmers so that the farmers of India become one of the best farmers in the world.

Developed India 2047 is no longer a dream but a goal – Dhankhar
During the program, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that Developed India 2047 is no longer a dream but a goal. The most important contribution to this goal and sacrifice is of the rural system and the farmer. Our challenge is to increase the per capita income eight times and only then the goal of developed India will be achieved. The target will definitely be achieved, but we will have to pay special attention towards the farmer. After 2 years we will celebrate the silver jubilee of Farmers Day. Silver Jubilee means that these institutions should be alive, these institutions should look after the interest of the farmer and understand the needs of the farmer.

Statement given on Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi
On Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and fertilizer subsidy, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also said that we help the farmers. Farmers receive the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi three times a year. There is a need for change because it is stable, but there is inflation in the economy, which is natural. We have to think about fertilizers and subsidies. Is this subsidy reaching the farmers in the right way? I would request these institutions and Krishi Vigyan Kendras to prepare such a formula so that this subsidy reaches the farmers directly. Because technically India has planted its flag in the world. When more than 100 million farmers or approximately the same number of farmers can avail this benefit thrice in a year, they can also avail the benefit of subsidy. One result of this will be that when this subsidy comes directly into their accounts, they will be influenced towards natural and organic farming."

Questions raised on the politics of the opposition
During the programme, Jagdeep Dhankhar raised questions on the politics of the opposition and said that “There are some people in the world and in our country who are against our Unable to digest progress. Dogmatic methods are being resorted to. I see that there is an unholy alliance in front of me, which is against the progress of India, and their style is very strange. A story is started. She picks up the pace. Then there are lawsuits based on that story, then there are movements based on that story. At such a time, it is the duty of every Indian to have unshakable faith in nationalism. Nation first, my country first. Let us work in this spirit.

Mentioning the slogan of Bahadur Shastri
Jagdeep Dhankhar during the program mentioned the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan&rsquo given by Lal Bahadur Shastri six decades ago; Referring to this, he said that whether it is a farmer or a soldier, their problems should be resolved quickly. Why? Because he is the soul of India. For this reason, when Atal ji’s government was formed, Atal ji added Jai Kisan Jai Jawan as well as Jai Vigyan and the present Prime Minister has made the record of becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time after independence and after six decades. Have achieved, Narendra Modi He added a fourth thing, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan’.
