After Basant Panchami, the weather changed and the sun started shining but on Tuesday, there was drizzle and hailstorm in many areas. It rained with thunder and lightning in Bundelkhand and surrounding districts of Kanpur. At the same time, there was heavy rain in Lucknow and surrounding areas late night.

Hail fell in Banda-Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur and Mahoba. Meteorologists estimate that there may be light to moderate rain and hailstorm with strong wind till February 23.

In 15 to 20 villages of Banda’s Baberu, including Kajitola, Kabirpur, Chauhan Dera, Pidaran, Bakal Samgara, Syria Tala, Shamsuddinpur, Augasi, Karhuli, Bhabhuwa, Aghav etc., crops have been damaged due to hailstones of 100-100 grams. In Hamirpur and Mahoba, due to storm and rain along with hailstorm, crops like lentils, peas, gram, wheat, mustard etc. fell in the fields. In Jalaun also there was heavy rain for half an hour with hailstorm for about 20 minutes in the evening. Due to this, there is a possibility of damage to 40 percent of wheat, mustard, gram, lentil and pea crops.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of Lucknow-based Zonal Meteorological Center, hail warning has been issued in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Mainpuri, Auraiya and surrounding areas.

On the other hand, the day temperature is increasing due to the scorching sun. The day’s temperature was highest in Jhansi at 34.2 degrees Celsius. Fursatganj recorded 30 degrees, Sultanpur 30.4, Prayagraj 32 and Agra 31.9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature across the state remained between 25 degrees to 34.2 degrees Celsius. It was 6 degrees more than normal.

Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Lakhimpurkheri, Hardoi, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Etah, Agra, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya and many surrounding areas.
