Orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for the districts of Nainital, Champawat, Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. Along with this, the possibility of landslides has been expressed in sensitive areas. With the monsoon rains, the process of road closure has started. Most of the roads in rural areas are being affected by the rains.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has reached almost the entire country ahead of time. Monsoon will reach the remaining parts of Punjab and Haryana and most parts of Rajasthan in the next two days. The IMD said that light to moderate rain is likely at most parts and heavy at some parts over West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand during the next five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh till June 29, East Uttar Pradesh from June 29 to July 1, East Rajasthan on June 29-30, Uttarakhand on June 28-29.

Nainital-Kilbury Road, 20 meters wide

Due to rains in Nainital, a landslide near the Government Polytechnic on the Nainital-Kilbury road cracked more than 20 meters of the road. Due to this, the movement of heavy vehicles on the road has come to a standstill. Due to the landslide, the drinking water line going from Sukhatal area also collapsed and drinking water supply has come to a standstill in Sherwani, Balrampur House, Oakpark and High Court areas. The officials inspected the spot and got the damaged part of the road covered with polythene.

Brother and sister drowned in river in Almora, 7 laborers saved in Kathua

A teenage brother and sister were swept away by the strong currents of a river in Uttarakhand’s Almora district. Police said that Bhavna (17) along with her brother Aditya (16) went down to bathe in the river on Monday evening in Dharanaula area of ​​Almora and were swept away by the strong current. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team fished out the bodies of both of them from the river after a lot of effort.

On the other hand, seven laborers had gone fishing in Ujh river in Kathua. Due to heavy rains, there was a sudden flood in the river and all were trapped in the water till the local people reached to help them. Later, the SDRF team reached the spot and rescued everyone.
