According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Regional Meteorological Center, there will be no respite from the melting. Drizzle may occur in western Uttar Pradesh on January 12-13. There are chances of cloudy sky in Lucknow as well. Dense fog will remain in most of the districts.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Pilibhit, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, and surrounding areas. . Varanasi and surrounding areas, Lucknow and its surrounding areas, Meerut, Kasganj, Amroha, Sambhal, Bandayu etc. in western Uttar Pradesh have been kept on yellow alert.
