What happens to old train coaches? Railway engineer told the reality, people were shocked

Along with the general budget, the railway budget is also being presented today. Like every time, this time also there is a preparation to run new trains by removing some old trains. When old trains are removed, new coaches equipped with gleaming and state-of-the-art facilities come which attract us. But where do the coaches of old trains go? What happens to them? Many such questions must be arising in your mind too. A user also asked the same question on Quora website, which got different answers. A person who called himself a railway engineer told the whole truth.

A person named Ashish Joshi had asked this question. Answer given by Fayaz Ahmed. Fayaz, who described himself as an engineer in the mechanical department of the Indian Railways, told that the age of the coaches used in the railways is 25 years. When a coach becomes 25 years old, the Railways removes that coach from service. Railway auctions the coaches taken out of service, but the trolley, flywheel and some other parts are kept by the railway itself and they are used in other coaches.

Temporary accommodation for railway workers also
Fayaz also told that apart from condemning the old coaches, the Railways also uses them in services like camp coaches and art. The engineering department of the railway has a camp coach in which the employees related to the construction and repair of the railway line are kept, in a way the camp coach is the temporary home of the railway employees.

Also used to transport employees
Apart from this, when there is a drilling in the railway, the art section of the mechanical department of the railway is activated to lift the derailed train and clear the rail line. Clears the railway line by going to the accident site. Brings the derailed train back on the rail line. Rail also uses its old and out of service coaches to transport and stay railway employees in art.

Most of the coaches are auctioned
Animesh Kumar Sinha who is a mechanical engineer also replied. they wrote. There are two types of coaches in the railway. Passenger Coaching Vehicle ie PCV (Passenger Coaching Vehicle). Their age is 25 years. Passengers travel in these coaches. Every coach of a normal passenger train is PCV. Second, there are other coaching vehicles i.e. OCV (Other Coaching Vehicle). These are departmental coaches. Like staff rest van, accident train etc. Passenger train coaches which cannot be converted into OCV, their good tomorrow parts are removed, following the prescribed procedures, they are auctioned and sold.

Now LHB coaches are being installed
Let us inform that these days LHB coaches are being installed in every train. Their age is 30 years. HHB coaches are made of stainless steel and aluminium. So that this coach is lighter than before. Due to CBC coupling technology, the chances of accident in an accident are less. Even after an accident, the bogies do not climb on each other. The suspension of the LHB coach is very good. The suspension of the ICF coach emits a sound of 70 decibels. That’s why you get to hear many voices while the train is running. While the LHB coach has a sound of up to 60 decibels. Which is also comfortable and also reduces the sound.
