When does the no flying zone apply
• During military conflicts, military forces often establish no-fly zones to prevent enemy aircraft from entering their airspace. The purpose is to protect civilians, safeguard critical infrastructure, and maintain balance on the battlefield.
• Some areas may also be declared no-flying zones for environmental reasons. The purpose is to protect sensitive wildlife habitats, migratory bird routes or areas to reduce air pollution. Antarctica was declared a no-flying zone by an international treaty in 1959, aimed at preserving the continent’s unique ecosystem.
• Due to national security, some countries declare some of their areas as no-flying zones. For example, the United States has established a no-flying zone over some areas, including the President’s residence, Camp David. Similarly, no-flying zones are also imposed around nuclear power plants in many countries.

PM Narendra Modi In view of the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister, Delhi Police has declared a no-fly zone in the capital for June 9 and 10. SPG, President’s security guards, ITBP, Delhi Police, Intelligence Department teams, paramilitary forces, NSG’s Black Cat Commandos and NDRF teams will be present for the security of the swearing-in ceremony. The standard security standards adopted during G-20 for foreign guests will also be adopted during the swearing-in ceremony. In view of the swearing-in ceremony and the presence of dignitaries, gliders, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small and large sized drones will be banned.
