What is the Vajra symbol
Savitri Bai Khanolkar had taken inspiration from sage Dadhichi for the Vajra symbol engraved on the Paramvir Chakra. If you do not know about Vajra, then let us tell you that according to the National War Memorial, Rishi Dadhichi asked the gods to donate his bones to kill Vritrasura. After which he sacrificed his body to save the world and from the bones of sage Dadhichi, Lord Vishwakarma created the weapons of the gods including Indra’s thunderbolt. Due to which Vritrasur’s body was shattered like sand. In this way, the story of sacrifice and dedication of Rishi Dadhichi is visible in this Vajra and also its strength.
