A case of death of two friends has come to light in New Modern Shahdara located in Mansarovar Park. One died during treatment after consuming poisonous substance at Hazrat Nizamuddin Hospital. While the other committed suicide the same night by jumping from the fifth floor of the five-star Hotel Leela in Anand Vihar. The youth who jumped from the hotel has been identified as 30-year-old Pawan Kumar. At the same time, the youth who died in the hospital has been identified as 36-year-old Sandeep. After the post-mortem, the police have handed over the dead bodies of both of them to the family.
Delhi Police started investigation into the death
Shahdara District Police has started investigation by taking mobile possession of both of them. Efforts are being made to ascertain whether the two friends were gay. The police is probing the matter by interrogating the relatives of both. Police is also investigating with the help of CCTV installed around the spot. According to the police, Sandeep lived with his family at New Modern Shahdara in Mansarovar Park.
The family consists of mother Kusum, wife Sarita, seven year old daughter and one month old son. Sandeep’s elder brother Neeraj lives with the family in Ashok Nagar. Neeraj told that he has been working in a parlor located in Nizamuddin for 20 years. Sandeep was also working in the same parlor for 10 years. Six months ago suddenly Sandeep brought his friend Pawan home with him. He told the family that Pawan has no one in this world. From now on Pawan will also stay here. Pawan also used to work in a different parlor. After this both started living together. Meanwhile, there was a lot of change in Sandeep’s behavior. He left the family and started living in the room with Pawan. After this, he reduced the conversation with his family members too. About three months back, Sandeep also left the job. When the relatives used to ask Sandeep something, he used to quarrel.
Sandeep had left saying that he was going to work
Relatives told that on Sunday, Sandeep had left the house saying that he would go to work with Pawan. He had said to return after noon, but he did not come. At around 5 pm, Sandeep’s sister got a call from Pawan. He told that Sandeep’s health is very bad. He has been admitted to the hospital in Nizamuddin. When the relatives reached the hospital, they came to know that Sandeep had died. The body was lying blue. It was learned from the hospital that apart from drinking too much alcohol, Sandeep had also consumed some poisonous substance which led to his death. The family did not find Pawan there, but found his scooty outside. Sandeep’s mobile was also not found by the family. The relatives informed the Mansarovar Park police station about this. Police took the dead body into custody and sent it for postmortem and started searching for Pawan.
Pawan had booked a room in Hotel Leela
The police were still searching for Pawan that the police got the news of a guest jumping down from the fifth floor of Hotel Leela in Anand Vihar. When the police reached there, it was found that Pawan had taken a room in the hotel. After this he jumped down late at night. Police also found vomit from Pawan’s room. It is feared that Pawan may have consumed some poisonous substance before jumping. Efforts are being made to ascertain whether Sandeep himself consumed the poisonous substance or Pawan fed him something. Later he himself took the step of suicide. The police is investigating by taking possession of the mobiles of both. Pawan, a resident of Ghaziabad, was living separately from the family for three years. After his death, sister-in-law had come from Ghaziaba to collect the dead body. Shahdara District Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Meena said that the bodies have been handed over to the family after the post-mortem. Viscera has been sent to the lab for examination. Only after this it will be known whether both had consumed some poisonous substance or not.
