Scientists at the International Space Station (ISS) often share pictures and videos of interesting experiments done in space laboratories, which leave us stunned. Recently, scientists shared a video that shows an astronaut pouring gummy gummy bears into a bubble of water floating inside the station. When an astronaut hits a water bubble with his face, the bubble explodes. The video is becoming very viral on social media.
Explaining the video, ISS wrote, having fun with surface tension in space! On Earth, this tension holds together liquids in which the molecules of one substance are more attracted to the molecules of another substance. That’s why they stick. But this property of liquids changes in space. There is no gravity and bubbles keep on flying. If we put something in it, they keep on circling like this. This microgravity could help scientists study disease, prevent devastating soil erosion on Earth. For us it is a means of entertainment.
