WhatsApp: Under IT Rule 2021, WhatsApp issues Monthly Safety Report every month. The company had also released the report for the month of April on the previous day. WhatsApp has banned 74 lakh Indian accounts between April 1 and April 30. All these accounts were not working under the new IT rule. That is, these accounts were involved in wrong things on the platform in one way or the other. Out of the total banned accounts, the company itself has banned 24 lakh accounts without any complaint.

There are more than 500 million active users of WhatsApp in India and today everyone is connected to each other through this app.
So many accounts were banned in the month of March
Last month, the company banned 45,97,400 accounts, out of which 12,98,000 accounts were banned by the company itself without any complaint. The company received 4,720 complaints in March, out of which 4,316 complaints were for account ban and the company took action against 553 of them.
This feature has been launched recently
To further improve the privacy of people on the app, WhatsApp has recently rolled out the chat lock feature globally. With its help, users can hide their chat from others. To use the chat lock feature, you have to go to the profile of the user whose chat you want to hide from others. With the help of fingerprint, you will be able to lock the chat. On locking the chat, it will be moved to a different folder and no one will be able to see the updates related to this chat. Updates related to this chat will not appear in the notification panel as well. That is, it will remain completely private.
