These 12 updates will be found inside the channel feature
- Interface – You will get to see full width messages in the channel. This type of update has been released by WhatsApp on the community for iOS beta testers.
- Verification Status- The verification mark on the channel will also be visible to the users. However, what will be the process for this, it is not clear yet.
- Followers Count- Below the name of the channel, users will be able to know the followers count that how many people are there in the channel.
- Mute Notification: Mute notification option will be available to silence the updates coming in the channel.
- Handle- Just like the users handle on Insta and Twitter, similarly the channel will also have a handle which will be written below its name.
- Real Followers Count- To know how many people are there in a sentence inside the channel, you have to click on the channel and inside you will see the full number written. For example, if a channel has 1,24,563 followers, then only 124K will be visible outside, but by clicking inside, you will be able to know the complete count.
- Shortcut: Inside the channel, users will get three shortcuts in which one will be share, second follow-unfollow and third forward option.
- Channel Description: This option will be below the name of the channel, in which the creator can give information about the channel to the people, what they will get to see in this channel.
- Mute toggle- Users will get an extra mute toggle to turn off channel notifications.
- Visibility – The channel can be made public through which anyone can join and share the content.
- Privacy- The option of privacy is also available in the channel, due to which the details of the users remain secure.
- Report- If you see any wrong message etc. inside the channel, then you can also report it.
WhatsApp can release the channel feature in the coming time. Currently it is in the developing stage which is available to some beta testers.
