This new feature will give users the option to check the authenticity of any image with the help of Google. This is especially useful if an image has been edited, altered, or taken out of context. WhatsApp is making this process easier. Users will not need to download images. A shortcut will be added in the WhatsApp web application itself, through which reverse image search can be started.
When users choose to search for images on the web, WhatsApp will first upload the image to Google with the user’s consent. After this, the reverse image search process will start in the default browser. It is important to note that this entire process will be handled by Google and WhatsApp will not have access to the content of the image.
Other new features of WhatsApp
Recently WhatsApp has also added the ability to scan documents in the iOS app. This new in-app scanning feature has been included in the latest iOS update (version 24.25.80) of WhatsApp. The feature lets users scan documents directly from the app’s document-sharing menu.
Now users will not need external scanning tools. Opening the document-sharing menu will reveal a “Scan” option, which activates the device’s camera. After scanning the document, users can preview it and make necessary adjustments. The app automatically detects the margin, but users also have the option to adjust it manually.
