No plans yet to lift export ban on wheat
The prices of wheat had risen sharply due to the Russo-Ukraine war, more exports. Due to the increase in the price of wheat, flour started becoming expensive. To control the price of flour, the central government had banned the export of wheat. Wheat traders had been demanding exemption on exports for a long time. But recently the officials of the central government have made it clear that the central government is not considering any kind of lifting the ban on wheat exports. The ban on wheat was imposed in May last year.
Wheat prices have decreased so much
After the central government launched 30 lakh tonnes of wheat in the market, its effect is being seen in the wholesale and retail markets. Officials said that the wholesale rate of wheat has come down from Rs 3000 per quintal to Rs 2500 per quintal. Wheat in retail has come down from around Rs 3400 per quintal to Rs 2900 per quintal. After this process, the central government had expressed the hope that the price of wheat would come down, which is also visible. At the same time, the price is likely to reduce further in the coming days.
