All those people who were going to receive the National Award were sitting there. The girl said to me, ‘Sir, I am a big fan of yours.’ She was a Malayalam actress.
‘I was feeling very proud at that time that I was getting the National Award. The girl asked, Sir, how many films have you done? I said around 135 then I asked him how much he has done and he said this is my first film. What can I say if that girl walked away with the National Award after appearing in her first picture.
Let us tell you that Akshay received his first National Award for the 2016 film Rustom. He received the Best Actor Award. After this, his film Padman, released in 2018, received the National Award for Best Film on Social Issue.
