When Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Dhoom 2’ became a huge hit at the box office, Amitabh Bachchan was celebrating his son’s success. But, a statement by the film’s director Sanjay Gadhvi upset Big B. In an interview, Sanjay considered Abhishek to be a flop compared to Hrithik.
Dhoom 2, released in 2006, featured Abhishek as a cop, the same role he played in the film’s prequel, and Hrithik as a thief who steals valuables from around the world. He is expert in looting. When Amitabh came to know about Sanjay’s comments, he publicly expressed his displeasure.
Big B lashed out
Amitabh Bachchan had told Prabhu Chawla on a straight talk that it is too much for a director to criticize an actor of his own film. "Cheap" Was. He said, “I read the interview in which he said about Abhishek that in ‘Dhoom’ he is finished, he is beaten up. I think it is very low for any director to criticize an actor for his own film. If you didn’t like Abhishek then why did you hire him? And if you hired him, why would you criticize him?”
Proud of Abhishek
When asked whether Abhishek should not have done the film, Amitabh said that he was proud of his son for doing the role even though he had a small part. They said, "I am proud of him for doing this role because he knew what the role was. He shared a good rapport with producer Aditya Chopra, who asked him to do the film. Despite knowing that he had a small part, he did it.”
