Eggs Kejriwal is a popular and delicious Indian dish from Mumbai. It is named after a prominent Indian political figure, Shri Devi Prasad Kejriwal. Yes, it is not named after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Devi Prasad Kejriwal was a regular at the Willingdon Sports Club in Mumbai during the 1960s. The story goes that he asked the club chef to create a dish that would suit his taste. The chef then prepared a special egg dish of fried eggs placed on buttered toast with green chillies, onions and spices. The dish instantly took a liking to Kejriwal and he used to order it regularly. With time, other members of the club also started ordering the same dish. However, when Devi Prasad Kejriwal passed away, the club named the dish “Eggs Kejriwal” as a tribute.
