Madhubani : It is said that whether a person trusts anyone or not, if he trusts God, he will definitely get success. Something similar has been seen in this village of Madhubani. Where a boy who left home to earn money in 2004 did not have any contact with his family for the next 20 years. Mother kept visiting temples, father kept visiting police stations. Brother kept wandering here and there, the villagers were also surprised and worried. No trace of the boy could be found, but when he returned home after 20 years, the happiness of the family knew no bounds. Mother’s wishes were fulfilled, brother got his brother back. Father’s soul was also satisfied. This was neither a film nor a dramatic scene. All this is real, all its characters are from real life.

From Madhubani to Babubarhi, then Khutauna and then a small village named Siddhapa. When we reached this village, which is about 60 km from the district headquarters, the name of Jeevch Mandal was on the lips of every child here. The same Jeevch Mandal who had returned to his home after 20 years. Now we met the boy. Very ordinary height, dark complexion, expression of lack of education on his face. We asked Jeevch, are you the same? He said yes. From here the series of questions and answers started.

Where have you been all these days?
After reading the first few lines, you must be wondering where this boy was for 20 years. We asked the same question as well. The answer came that I was working as a labourer. Our next question was where, how and since when? The answer was…I left home in 2004, I was just 15 years old at that time. There was a financial crunch so I had no money and I did not even complete my education.
To overcome financial crisis at home I first went to Amritsar.

We asked him, did you have any relatives there? He said no. Someone had told me that Amritsar is a good place for work. I searched for some work there but couldn’t find it. Then in the next few days I reached Chandigarh. There I came in contact with a swing owner, worked as a labourer, but I didn’t get any money, I only got food. During this time, I broke my hand once but the owner got it treated.

A question arose that why did you not try to contact home in all these days? The answer came, I tried. But at that time I neither had money nor anyone’s address. I could have gone home, but had left home to earn money. In such a situation, going without money did not seem good. Jeevchh further tells that now my plans were not going to be successful in Punjab. Therefore, I made a plan to go to Himachal. I reached Himachal five, six years ago. I got a job in a hotel there. I started living there, made some friends, when I talked to them, I also told them my story. Then came the time of lockdown, everyone was going to their homes. I also wanted to go but there was a lack of documents, in such a situation, I could not go even if I wanted to.

A mother’s happiness is worth seeing
The mother is happy that her son has returned after so many years. Now she wants to keep her beloved son safe for the next several days. She says that right now I will not let him go at any cost. First I will get him married and then I will let him go. Jeevchha’s mother Geeta Devi says that there is no temple nearby where I have not made a vow (kobla). I have made vows everywhere, I will also offer a gold nose ring in the court of Mata Rani.

The villagers are also happy. They start laughing at the mention of marriage and tell us in a low voice that she is already married. When we asked how it happened, they told us that earlier child marriages used to happen, the relationship was fixed at that time but after the boy disappeared, the relationship broke and the girl also went out of hand. After this, the villagers start laughing.

Jeevchha reached the village only 7 days ago
Just last week, Jeevchha came to the village with his Himachal friend Satpal. Here he knows all the people of his time. But things seem to have changed in today’s time. The roads here, the people here, his childhood and those happy days. Currently, he is 35 years old. Now he is preparing for marriage, after which he will return to Himachal again.
