At the same time, BJP claimed that CM Soren has been absconding for 18 hours due to fear of arrest.
The ED team along with Delhi Police reached 5/1 Shanti Niketan Bhawan in South Delhi at around 9 am on Monday and remained present there till around 10:30 pm. Conspiracy to defame – JMM
Meanwhile, CM Soren’s family member told news agency PTI that this entire incident is a conspiracy to defame Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren has continuously replied to ED. He had expressed his desire to record his statement at his residence on January 31 at 1 pm.
JMM said- Went to Delhi for personal work
Jharkhand CM had left for Delhi from Ranchi on 27 January. His party JMM said on Monday that he had gone for personal work and would return. However, BJP’s Jharkhand unit claimed on Monday that Chief Minister Soren has been absconding for the last 18 hours fearing ED action. During this, BJP urged Governor CP Radhakrishnan to take cognizance of this matter and said that the credibility and reputation of Jharkhand is at stake.
What did CM Soren say in the mail sent to ED?
According to official sources, the ED had questioned Soren at his official residence in Ranchi on January 20 in the alleged land fraud case and issued him a fresh summons asking him to tell whether he would appear for questioning on January 29 or January 31. The days will come. CM Soren had sent a letter to the agency but did not specify the day or date for the inquiry. In an e-mail sent to the ED on Sunday (January 28), Soren accused it of being motivated by political agenda to obstruct the functioning of the state government and claimed that his statement would be re-recorded on or before January 31. ED’s stubbornness shows its ill will.
