The Moon is located at a distance of about 3,84,400 kilometers from our Earth. This moon has become a laboratory of science, where many countries are launching or preparing to launch their missions. But America, Russia, China and India are the only countries which have made soft landing on the moon. Now India has another mission, whose name is Spadex. This mission is to connect two spacecraft traveling in space, this is called docking.
If this mission is successful, India will become the fourth country to do so after Russia, America and China. However, what is hidden behind the Spacex is Chandrayaan-4. This mission is very important for India’s next Chandrayaan-4. Under this mission, samples of lunar soil will be brought to Earth.
These countries have brought soil from the moon
Moon soil. Yes, lunar soil is very important to explore future possibilities in space. Till now there are only a few countries which have brought soil from the Moon to the Earth, they are America, Russia and China. Recently, China’s moon mission Chang’e-6 had returned from the moon with its soil. This soil was extracted from a 4 billion year old crater present in the far and dark part of the Moon. Before this, America and Russia had also brought soil samples from the Moon, but these samples were from the nearer part of the Moon. However, China had brought soil from a part of the Moon about which very little is known.
What is discovered in the lunar soil?
Scientists have a special motive behind bringing the lunar soil to Earth. That is to find future possibilities on the moon. Actually, scientists have been searching for water on the moon for a long time. Along with this, scientists also believe that many types of minerals are also present on the moon. In such a situation, scientists are searching for water and minerals by bringing soil samples from the moon. Recently, Chinese scientists had claimed that they had found water molecules in the soil brought from the moon.
