On March 20, 1615, a prince was born in the house of Shahjahan. Which was named Dara Shikoh. Dara Shikoh was the elder son of Shahjahan. Who was considered a great scholar. Apart from Islam, Dara Shikoh studied many other religions, especially Dara Shikoh read all the texts related to Hinduism very deeply. Dara Shikoh studied the Upanishads and other Hindu religious scriptures.
Along with this, he also got many Hindu religious texts translated into Persian language. Due to this, many Muslim religious gurus became angry with him while the people of Hindu religion came very close to him. And this was the reason why Many people of the Mughal Sultanate also called him Pandit ji.
His own brother murdered him
Dara Shikoh was not much interested in military and administrative matters. But still Shahjahan wanted his elder son Dara Shikoh to become the king. Because in his eyes Dara Shikoh was a sensible and intelligent person. Who could run India very well.
But Shahjahan’s younger son Aurangzeb did not like this. He felt that if Dara Shikoh became the king then the religion of Islam would be in danger. And because of this he imprisoned his own father. And beheaded his brother Dara Shikoh.
