Who Can Terminate An IAS Officer: Candidates have to work very hard to reach the prestigious post of IAS in the country. The entire responsibility of selecting the right candidates lies on the shoulders of UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission. Selection is done after passing several stages of examinations and once they join the service, it is not easy to remove them from the post.

Who can suspend
While only the President has the right to remove an IAS officer from his post, the state government also has the right to suspend him but it can be used only in special circumstances. If an IAS officer is suspended, then information about it has to be given to the Cadre Control Authority and permission has to be taken from the Central Government to continue the suspension for more than 30 days.

Lal Bahadur Shastri National Administration Academy has cancelled her training program. The final decision in this case will be taken by the President of the country.
