It is very important to eat a balanced diet to keep the body healthy. For that you should know what things are mixed in the food you are eating. Often people eat packed food items, in such a situation, if they have diabetes or any other disease, then they have to pay close attention to the sugar content in the packed food items. You can often find out information about these things from the traffic light marks on food items. If you have visited Britain, you will see traffic light-like markings on food items there. It is possible that you may see these marks on some goods in India also.
According to the Mirror website, in Britain, if you see red, green or yellow-orange colored circles like traffic lights over food items, then it will be very easy for you to eat those things. That is because these colored marks are made there so that more information about the things related to food and drink can be given inside those marks. In these marks, information about the nutrients is given and in what quantity they are present.

These are called traffic light labels
The Food Standards Agency of Britain has decided that these colored marks must be made on food items, in which information about the nutrients present in the food items will be given. This traffic light system tells whether the food item contains high, medium or low amount of fat, saturated fat, sugar or salt. Along with this, it also tells about the amount of calories.
This is the meaning of colors-
Red color means that there is too much nutrient in that food item and you need to reduce it, or eat less of that food item.
Amber color means medium. This means that you can eat it often in food items, the nutrients are not high, but not very low either.
Whereas green color means that the thing contains nutrients beneficial for health and they will not harm your body. According to the Food Standards Agency, it is beneficial to eat food items that are more green.
