In most countries of the world, the condition of everyone is bad due to extreme heat. The roads are getting so hot due to the heat that the tyres of vehicles are bursting. But have you ever wondered why the tyres of planes do not burst? What is the reason behind this? Today we will tell you what material the tyres of planes are made of and why they do not burst.
Flight
Today, most people prefer to travel by flight to save time. Those who travel by flight must know that the entire weight of the plane falls on the tyres. The role of tyres increases during take off and landing, that is why the engineers of the plane always pay more attention to the tyres. But the question is, what are plane tyres made of, so that they do not burst like other tyres.
What material are plane tyres made of?
Let us tell you that airplane tyres are considered to be the strongest. Airplane tyres are made with a 45-inch synthetic rubber compound combination. In these, aluminium steel is combined with cloth, which are made from nylon and aramid. At the same time, nitrogen gas is filled in them with a pressure of 200 pounds per square inch. You must have read in science that nitrogen is an inert gas, so high temperature and pressure changes have less effect on it than normal air. Plane tyres can also bear a pressure of 900 pounds per square inch. That is why it is considered to be the strongest. You must have noticed that when the tyres touch the ground during the landing of the plane, smoke comes out of them. Let us tell you that when the airplane touches the ground, initially its tyres slide instead of rolling. They slide until their rotational velocity becomes equal to the velocity of the airplane. When the velocity becomes equal, they stop sliding and start rotating. This is the reason why a block pattern is not used on airplane tyres like car tyres, because there is a risk of the block pattern breaking. That is why grooves are used in its tyres. Each of its tyres can bear a load of up to 38 tonnes. This is the reason why 20 wheels are installed in many commercial aircrafts.
Why do tyres not burst?
Now the question is why the tyres of planes do not burst. The tyres which are filled with nitrogen gas usually never burst. Because there is no possibility of fire in these tyres due to friction. That is why the tyres of an airplane landing on the ground at high speed do not heat up and burst despite friction. Nowadays many people fill nitrogen gas in the car tyres so that the tyres do not get heated and burst during long distance travel.
