Why does the temperature of AC never go below 16°C? Most people do not know this

AC Tips: Summer season has started in India and in North India the heat is crossing 48 degrees C, that is why most people are using Air Conditioner i.e. AC. While using AC, almost everyone must have thought that why the temperature of AC does not go below 16°C. Most people do not know the answer to this question, but today we are going to tell you about this, what is the reason that does not allow the AC to go below 16 degrees.

There is a risk of the evaporator freezing

To understand this, we will have to understand the internal components of AC. Actually, there is an evaporator in AC, which is cool due to the coolant, due to its cooling, the AC is able to do its work i.e. give cool air. If the temperature is set below 16°C, the evaporator will start freezing completely, after which the AC will stop working and will get damaged.

The AC gas keeps circulating around this special component of the air conditioner, the evaporator. The hot gas passes through the condenser and releases the heat into the outside air, the gas that remains cools down and turns into liquid form. This liquid gas passes through the coils of the evaporator, which evaporates and absorbs heat from the environment. After this, you feel cool air in your room.

Possibility of AC getting damaged

Refrigerant is present in this component of AC, Evaporator, which reduces the pressure of cold air. If the temperature is reduced further, the cold air will turn into ice. Although ice freezes at 0 degrees C, the first step of its freezing starts at 16°C, so if the temperature goes below 16 degrees, there is a risk of AC getting damaged. For this reason, the minimum temperature of AC is 16°C.
