Indian Laptop Market: The laptop market in India has grown rapidly in the last few years. According to a report, the laptop market in India has almost doubled in the last 5 years. There are many reasons for such a growth in the laptop market, including the increasing pace of digitalization, work from home and class from home.
Laptop market doubled in India
After the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for laptops started increasing rapidly all over the world and a big impact was seen especially in India. Due to the lockdown, crores of people in India, a country with a population of 140 crores, were forced to work from home and crores of children to study from home.
In the culture of online education and online work, having a laptop became a must and due to this, laptop sales increased. Laptop companies around the world took advantage of this and they also started expanding their production rapidly.
Apart from this, the increasing income level in India has also contributed to increasing the demand for laptops. Many times more people in India than before consider laptops as an essential item and find it mandatory for them to have it.
Main reasons for market growth
Apart from these, another important reason for the increase in demand for laptops in India is digitalization. The Government of India is taking many initiatives to promote the digital economy through the Digital India initiative. Due to this, the number of internet users in India has increased, which has also increased the demand for laptops.
Apart from the above reasons, another main and latest reason is AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence. In the last 2 years, AI technology has left a big mark in the world as well as in India. Now people have started using AI in daily life and for this some people also need laptops.
Laptop manufacturing companies have also started providing AI support in laptops, which can become a major need of people in the future. HP India Managing Director Ipsita Dasgupta believes that the size of the laptop market will double in the next five years. The company hopes that AI-based PCs will accelerate this growth. About 50 percent of the PCs sold in the next two to three years will include AI technology. This will greatly improve areas like productivity, creativity, gaming and security.
