40 years after the Bhopal gas tragedy, the Madhya Pradesh government is now starting action to dispose of 337 metric tons (MT) of Union Carbide’s toxic waste. Let us tell you that after the Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984, ‘Union Carbide’ was lying in the factory. Now this waste will be destroyed in an industrial waste disposal unit at Pithampur near Indore. Let us tell you that on March 4 this year, the Central Government had allocated Rs 126 crore for garbage disposal.

Madhya Pradesh High Court has also expressed displeasure
Let us tell you that even after 40 years of Bhopal gas tragedy, the poisonous waste of ‘Union Carbide’ factory has not been disposed of. In this regard, on December 3, the state government was instructed that this waste should be sent to the designated waste disposal unit within four weeks. However, now work is being done on this and according to reports, the waste from these chemicals will be sent tonight.
