The connection of Durand Line dates back to the British times. Actually, the British had created the Durand Line to protect their interests in South Asia. It was built in 1893 between British India and the Emirates of Afghanistan. This border was named after Sir Henry Durand, who was the Foreign Secretary of the British ruler of India at that time. According to the information, during that time the British had drawn this border line in collaboration with the then Afghan ruler Abdur Rahman. Britain had handed over the rule of Afghanistan to Rahman to further its interests. Not only this, a large part of the Durand Line passes through PoJK.
