Why was the decision of lateral entry in UPSC stopped, the government told this big reason

UPSC Lateral Entry Row: After the uproar over the advertisement for later entry in YPSC, the central government took a U-turn on the matter and asked to withdraw it. Many questions started coming about why the government took this step. In such a situation, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has answered. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always shown its commitment towards social justice.

He further said that Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) It has been decided to apply the principle of reservation in the transparent decision taken for lateral entry. The Information and Broadcasting Minister said, “Today, the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again reinstated Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s commitment to the Constitution with a very important decision. UPSC had adopted a very transparent method for lateral entry. We have taken such a decision to apply the principle of reservation in that too. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always shown his commitment towards social justice.”

‘The principle of reservation was implemented everywhere’

He further said, “Earlier the OBC Commission which was an ordinary body, we gave it constitutional status. Be it NEET, medical admission, Sainik Vidyalaya or Navodaya Vidyalaya, we have implemented the principle of reservation everywhere. Not only this, we have also given a proud place to the Panch Teerth of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Today it is a matter of great pride that the President of India also comes from the tribal society.”

‘The picture of social justice is seen in PM Modi’s decisions’

The Union Minister said, “Today, under Modi Ji’s saturation program, all the schemes are being delivered to the last person in the country. The maximum benefit of this is being received by the people of our SC, ST and OBC society. Modi Ji’s commitment to reach the last person in the society and provide him justice is also reflected in today’s decision to apply the principle of reservation in UPSC’s lateral entry.”

‘Did Congress keep the principle of reservation in mind?’

Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Before 2014, the principles of reservation were not followed in the UPA government. Finance secretaries were appointed through lateral entry and the principles of reservation were not followed. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and before that Dr. Vijay Kelkar also became finance secretaries through lateral entry. Did the Congress follow the principles of reservation at that time? Transparency was being brought in UPSC through lateral entry and now by bringing the principle of reservation in it, keeping social justice in mind, the commitment towards the constitution has been made clear.”
