A newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ house in Aman Vihar area on Saturday. She was found hanging in her room. The deceased has been identified as Vipasha. The police have conducted post-mortem of the body and handed it over to the family members. The family members created a ruckus by blocking the road near Sanjay Gandhi Hospital on Sunday, accusing their in-laws of murdering their daughter. The police made them understand and calm them down.
SDM is investigating the matter. SDM has recorded the statement of the victim’s family. Vipasha lived with her family in Aman Vihar area. Her father Rajendra, resident of Aman Vihar, told that four months ago he had married his daughter to Harikrishna, who lives in the same area. Rajendra alleges that after marriage, his in-laws started harassing his daughter. They tried to convince her husband and in-laws. Rajendra alleges that on April 26, his in-laws beat up his daughter. After getting this information, he reached the daughter’s in-laws house, but her in-laws did not allow the daughter to come with them. They threatened to end the relationship if they took the daughter away.
The mother of the deceased told that on Saturday her in-laws told that Vipasha had left the house. After half an hour, Harikrishna’s father called Vipasha’s father and asked him to come home. On reaching there it was found that Vipasha had committed suicide. He had hanged himself from the fan. After investigating the case, the police sent the body for post-mortem. The police officer said that in the initial investigation it seems to be a case of suicide. On Sunday, the family members who reached Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri to take the dead body blocked the road. The family members allege that the police is not investigating the case impartially. Seeing the increasing commotion, police force had to be deployed on the spot. Police officers reached the spot and pacified the people. Police is busy investigating the matter.
