In Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, a woman returning home with her husband fell off the bike on Saturday night. A speeding canter vehicle coming from behind crushed her. The woman died on the spot. Police reached the spot after getting information and inquired about the incident. The accident took place in front of Fauji Dhaba on Eta Road in Pachokhra police station area.
30-year-old Shakuntala Devi, a resident of Nagla Vidya Nagar in New Agra police station area, had come to visit relatives with her husband Asharfi Lal. She was returning home with her husband at 5:30 am on Saturday. She slipped from the bike and fell on the road in front of Fauji Dhaba. Meanwhile, a canter coming from behind ran over her.
Shakuntala died on the spot. On receiving the information, the police station has sent the body of the deceased to Firozabad for postmortem. SHO Parul Mishra says that the canter vehicle that caused the accident has been seized. The driver fled from the spot. Action is being taken by registering a report in the case.
