According to Turkish media reports, a woman here filed a divorce petition because her husband did not take bath. The woman’s lawyer told the court that the man keeps wearing the same clothes for five consecutive days. He hardly ever bathes, his body stinks.

Witnesses were also presented in the court against the woman’s husband. Many of his acquaintances and even his colleagues told the court that he lives in a dirty manner. The court granted the woman’s request for divorce and also ordered her husband to pay 500,000 Turkish Lira ($16,500) as compensation for living in squalor.
What did the woman’s lawyer say?
The woman’s lawyer said that the husband and wife should live together and fulfill the responsibilities of life, but if their life goes into trouble due to the relationship between them, then the other party has every right to file an application for divorce. He said, “We all should pay attention to both our behavior and cleanliness to maintain better relationships.”
‘Used to take bath once in 10 days’
From the statements of witnesses, the court learned that the man used to take bath once in about 10 days and brushed his teeth only once or twice a week, due to which his breath started giving off an unbearable foul smell. Interestingly, some of the man’s colleagues agreed to appear as witnesses in the case and said that his body odor made working with him quite unpleasant.
