A woman who got burnt while trying to commit suicide by pouring petrol on herself in Gautampalli area, died late Saturday night. The woman was undergoing treatment at KGMU for the past five days. After the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family on Sunday. Meanwhile, the police have tightened the noose on the lawyer who instigated the woman to commit suicide and has been sent to jail. Serious sections have been added in the FIR.
On August 6, 32-year-old Anjali, a resident of Purva in Unnao, had set herself on fire by pouring petrol on herself in Gautampalli area. About 95 percent of her body was burnt. She was admitted to the plastic surgery department of KGMU in a critical condition. In the case, the police had revealed that Purva resident advocate Sunil Kumar had instigated Anjali to commit suicide.
The police arrested Sunil Kumar and sent him to jail on August 8. Anjali died during treatment at around 2 am on Saturday night. ADCP Central Manisha Singh said that the section of abetment of suicide has been added to the FIR.

Anjali married Purva resident Deshraj about three years ago. They have a two-year-old son. On July 30, she had a quarrel with her husband. On August 2, she filed a case of dowry harassment. The police arrested Deshraj and his brother and sent them to jail. Meanwhile, on August 6, Anjali set herself on fire, accusing the police of negligence and collusion and not arresting the other accused.
The daughter did not know the consequences, the lawyer committed suicide
Anjali must not have had the slightest idea that the step she was about to take would end her life. The innocent child would lose the support of her mother. The lawyer provoked her so much that he ended her life. Anjali’s mother Laxmi said these things while talking at the post mortem house. She said that everyone keeps having disputes amongst themselves, but they get resolved through talks. If the lawyer had given the right advice then the daughter would have been alive. The dispute would also have been resolved. But, he provoked her so much that everything was over. The motive behind this is not understood till now. Brother Shilu is also shocked by the death of his sister.
