Every person wishes to win the lottery. But imagine if someone hits the jackpot. What will be his condition if he wins a lottery worth billions of rupees? Will not be overjoyed. A person from Britain also jumped with joy when he came to know that the ticket he had bought. But his happiness was dashed in a moment when his wife refused to give the money. Said- I am not going to give even a penny.
According to the report of Daily Star, 39-year-old Michael Cartlidge, a resident of Britain, said that he has been living with his girlfriend Charlotte Cox for three months. A few days ago, Charlotte bought a lotto scratchcard from a shop. Then I gave the money. We both filled Charlotte’s name on the back of the card. The donors should have received the money. I was not sure that he would hit the jackpot. But when the lottery draw came out, it was revealed that Charlotte had won 1 million pounds i.e. 10 crore rupees. Hearing this we jumped with joy. We also made a plan to spend the money. Initially Charlotte said that both of them would divide the money and spend it accordingly. But later she retracted.
left after a few weeks
Charlotte refused to give Michael a penny. So much so that she left after a few weeks. Michael said, when we went to the store, Charlotte did not have money to buy lottery tickets. Then I said that I will transfer the money. I transferred the money immediately. You can see it in the CCTV installed at the shop. Lottery officials also investigated it and said that the money should be divided between the two. But later the National Lottery officials changed their mind and announced to give the entire amount to Charlotte.
If not, Charlotte would not have got the ticket.
Michael is now going to initiate legal action. He claims that if I had not been there, Charlotte would not have got the ticket. Whereas Charlotte told something else. He said, I bought the ticket. He did not transfer the money to me. All his talk is nonsense. I have nothing to do with him. You can’t trust a man’s word. A close friend of Charlotte said that her three months living with Michael were wasted. Lottery official Allwyn told The Sun that the rules of scratchcard games make it clear that only one person can own a ticket. Only that person whose name and address is written on the back is given this award. These people should resolve the issue amongst themselves.
