Fire in IGL pipeline

During the excavation of the drain in Pradeep Vihar-Ibrahimpur located in Burari, IGL’s pipeline caught fire with an explosion. Two workers came under fire. With the help of people, the police rescued Rajkumar (42) and sent him to the nearest hospital, where his condition remains critical. Meanwhile, Jharoda resident Praveen Kumar (35) died on the spot in the accident. His body remained lying in the pit for a long time. Somehow the fire was controlled and the body was taken out. Burari police station has registered a case of death due to negligence and started investigation.
North District Police Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Meena said that the accident occurred at around 10:53 pm on Saturday night. Here the contractor of IGL was getting the pipeline work done. Here PWD is working to build a drain and culvert at the main gate of the society of Pradeep Vihar. IGL pipeline is passing from here. PWD had requested IGL to lower the pipeline slightly.
For this, the contractor was digging the pit with five laborers. Suddenly the pipeline burst and a fire broke out after the explosion. Due to this Rajkumar and Praveen came under his influence. At the same time, fire brigade and police allege that despite repeated information in the control room of IGL, the gas supply was not stopped for a long time. After about one and a half hour the gas supply was stopped and the repair work was done. Praveen died on the spot in the accident, while Rajkumar got badly burnt.
