Book fair…

The crowd at the World Book Fair broke all records so far. More than 1.75 lakh people reached the fair on Saturday. There were long queues to enter the fair premises. People were also seen queuing up outside book stalls to buy their favorite book. The author sessions, book releases, workshops, seminars and cultural events saw huge turnout of book lovers. Sunday is the last day of the fair. Due to the holiday, there is a possibility of increasing the crowd on this day.
People eagerly wait for the book fair organized at Pragati Maidan. In fact, here readers get all the books of their choice at one go and also get an opportunity to meet their favorite author. This is the reason why a large number of people reach here every year. On Saturday also, along with the fair’s pavilions, book stalls, there was a line at the food and drink stalls. Despite having hundreds of shops, people kept waiting for an hour or so for food after placing orders. Small children were seen having fun, so women also came here and spent a pleasant time.
Child writer Nandini encouraged
At Bal Mandap, child writer Nandini Nair encouraged budding writers to start writing from a young age. Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust organized a yoga workshop explaining the importance of yoga and its benefits. Apart from this, a story writing workshop was also organized for the children.
Release and discussion of dozens of books
Dozens of books were released and discussions were organized in the fair. These include Sajjan Singh Yadav’s book India’s Vaccine Development Saga, Ras Bihari’s book West Bengal Legislative Assembly 2021 – Fear of Terror Election, Neeraj Badhwar’s talk less scam, Prem Janmejay’s horned donkey, BN Joshi’s Shramtan: A Memoir, Swami Kailashanand Giri’s A River of Moksha: Pilgrimages along the Ganga, Balaji Vittal’s Pure Evil: The Bad Men of Bollywood and Professor Shankar Sahay’s Chandausi Junction. The new edition of the book Koi Deewana Kehta Hai by popular poet Kumar Vishwas was also released. Poetry recitation was organized by Rekhta Foundation at Natyashala. In this, seven young poets mesmerized the audience by presenting poems of Urdu culture.
Minister released the vaccine development story
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya released the book ‘Bharat Ki Vaccine Vikas-Gatha’ by Sajjan Singh Yadav, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance. He said during the pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed faith in the Indian scientific community and eminent health professionals of the country, which helped India overcome this insurmountable challenge.
