The list of the busiest air routes in the world during the year 2024 has been released. In this, Mumbai-Delhi domestic flight route has been placed at 8th position worldwide. Let us tell you that International Aviation and Travel Data and Analysis Firm OAG has released the 2024 ranking report of domestic routes around the world. According to this, the Mumbai-Delhi route has been placed at sixth position in the Asia-Pacific region. However, no international route from India could make it to this list.

According to the report, the Mumbai-Delhi route has increased its ranking by one place. Last year this route was ranked ninth globally. The important thing is that this is the only air route of India which has made a place in the global list. However, before the Corona period i.e. in 2019, this route was ranked sixth globally, which is its highest ranking till date.
This came to light in the OAG report
According to the OAG report, the seating capacity on the Mumbai-Delhi route has increased by 9 percent during 2024, which has now increased to 7.96 million seats. However, this seating capacity is still three percent less as compared to 2019.

This is the busiest domestic air route in Asia-Pacific
Talking about the busiest domestic air route in Asia-Pacific, Jeju International to Seoul Gimpo air route is at the first position. This route was also at number one in 2023 and in 2024 the seating capacity on this route was 14.18 million. Talking about globally busy domestic air routes, this route remained at the fifth position in 2024 also. This route had the same rank in 2023 also.
There is no international air route of India in the list
The thing to note is that no international air route of India has found a place in this report. Talking about the world’s busiest international route, the Hong Kong-Taipei route comes at the first position, which was at the third position in 2023. According to OAG’s ranking, Kuala Lumpur-Singapore was the world’s busiest international route in 2023, which dropped to fourth place in the 2024 report.
