Bikaner:- It is said that there is cumin in the camel’s mouth, but this saying is no longer for camels, but now camels have milk, ghee, oil and cashew nuts and almonds in their mouth. It may sound strange, but camels are having fun in Bikaner these days. Here the camel is on a special diet plan in winter. Apart from winter, there is also the occasion of International Camel Festival. Regarding this festival, many camel farmers are giving cow’s milk, ghee and cashew nuts and almonds apart from fodder to their camels to look good and increase their stamina, which makes the camels look good.
been following for three generations
Camel rearer Sameer Khan told Local 18 that our family has been working as camel rearers for almost three generations. The camel has been prepared for a long time. Here the camels are being given special diet. Give 10 kg of moth and peanut fodder in the morning and evening. For the last one to one and a half months, we have been giving milk and ghee to the camel. Giving 2 kg milk and 300 grams ghee to the camel every morning and evening. Apart from this, they are also giving oil as per health.
Apart from this, alum is also given in hot water in the evening. To look a little better in preparation for the Camel Festival, cashews and almonds are also being given. The weight of this camel is 7 to 8 quintals i.e. 700 to 800 kg. Last year it participated in camel fur cutting i.e. camel decoration and camel decoration. At that time this camel had come third and this time also it is participating in the festival.
Feeding cashews and almonds to increase stamina
He tells Local 18 that there are hundreds of camel farmers in Bikaner district, some of whom are camel farmers themselves, who are giving cashew nuts, almonds and milk and ghee to the camels. With this, the camels can look better and the stamina of the camels can increase. Every year 20 to 30 camels participate in the camel race in the International Camel Festival here. This dose is given to increase the stamina of camels, so that they can run at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers. Keeping this in mind, this preparation is being done.
