Recently a report has been released on breaking of traffic rules in Delhi. It tells how many people were fined for driving on the wrong side of the road in Delhi in a particular year. There has been a huge increase in the figures as compared to the last few years. Let us tell you how many fines Delhi Police has issued to people driving on the wrong side of the road.
Challans issued to more than 1 lakh people
Delhi Police has released a report on the statistics of traffic challans this year. This report states that cases of driving on the wrong side of the road have increased by 20.63% compared to last year. Talking about this matter, a senior officer of Delhi Police said, ‘Last year we sent 1,24,593 notices to people found violating the rules. This year 1,03,283 notices have been sent for this purpose.’
Let us tell you that these figures are till 31 August. Many road accidents have happened due to driving on the wrong side of the road in which many people have lost their lives. Last year, Delhi Police had issued 59,527 challans till 31 August. Whereas this year, 76,849 challans have been issued so far.
So many fines were imposed for using the phone while driving
Using phone while driving is a violation of traffic laws and is also dangerous. By doing this, drivers not only put their own lives in danger but also put the lives of other people on the road in danger. Delhi Police has released data stating that cases of using phone while driving have increased compared to last year.

Last year, Delhi Police had sent notices to five people for using phones while driving. This year, till now, 125 people have been sent notices for this. Till 31st August this year, Delhi Police has issued challans to 19,422 people for using phones while driving.
