WTC Final 2023 Will Be Played With Kookaburra Ball India And Australia Decided To Use The Australian Variant Of Red Ball

Australia vs India, WTC Final 2023: The final match of the second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) will be played between Australia and India from June 7 at The Oval ground in England. For the first time, the Indian team will take to the ground to play a match in Test format without Duke ball in England. In this match between Australia and India, the Kookaburra ball of Australian variant will be used instead of Duke.

In the year 2021, when the final match of the first edition of WTC was played, India and New Zealand team played with Duke ball. Over the past several complaints have been lodged by county teams about the deterioration in the quality of the Dukes ball. Keeping these reasons in mind, both the teams have agreed to play with Kookaburra ball in place of Dukes.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has also mentioned this in one of his statements. Ponting told that the ICC has given its consent for the use of Kookaburra ball in place of Duke for the WTC final.

It will be an Indian top order vs Australian pace attack

Ricky Ponting said about this historic match in the ICC event that according to him it will be between the Indian top order and the Australian fast bowling attack. Often we talk about the competition between Indian spinners and Australian batsmen. But all these things do not matter much considering the condition of the Oval.

Ponting further said about the wicket of Oval that when I played there, the pitch plays very well in the initial time of batting. After this, as the game progresses, spin bowlers get to see some help on this.
