India-China Border Clash: Chinese President Xi Jinping interacted with the soldiers deployed along the Indo-China border in eastern Ladakh via video conference and reviewed their war preparedness. The official media gave this information here on Friday.

Xi addressed troops deployed along the border in Khunjrab under the Xinjiang Military Command from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) headquarters. Xi is also the general secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China and chief of the PLA. According to a video shown by China’s official media, Xi addressed the troops, saying how “in recent years, the region is constantly changing” and how this has affected the military.

What did the soldiers say?
According to the report, one of the soldiers replied that they are now monitoring the border ’24 hours’. Xi also questioned their status as well as whether they were getting fresh vegetables in the difficult terrain. According to official media, Xi questioned the troops “about their border patrolling and management work”. Appreciating the soldiers, he encouraged them to continue their efforts.

What is the matter?
The standoff between India and China started after a violent clash on May 5, 2020, in the Pangong Lake area of ​​eastern Ladakh. There have been 17 rounds of high-level military talks between the two sides regarding the border standoff in eastern Ladakh, but there has been no significant progress in resolving the remaining issues.

India has emphasized that peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is necessary for the overall development of bilateral relations with China. Recently there was a clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
