PM Vidya Lakshmi Yojana

In 2024, the government launched the PM Vidya Lakshmi Yojana, which aimed to reduce the financial burden for meritorious students. This scheme is especially for those students who take admission in 860 premier institutions of the country. Under this scheme, students will get education loans at minimum interest rates. The government has set a budget of Rs 3,600 crore over the next seven years for this scheme, which will benefit more than 22 lakh students every year.

PM Shri Vidyalayas have been established under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to promote holistic and inclusive education.
