Fake and stale sweets start to smell
Stale sweets have stale smell and sour taste. Real sweets are soft, moist and uniform. Counterfeit sweets may be hard, sticky or uneven. Sweets which are very bright or colourful. They may contain dangerous chemicals. Dissolve the sweets in water and stir vigorously. If it foams, it contains detergent. If you are taking khoya to make sweets at home. So you can easily know whether it is real or fake. For this, first of all rub some khoya on the nail of your thumb. If it smells like ghee, then it is pure. If water comes out of it, it is likely to be fake.
You can avoid this by gently touching the top of the sweet and if this layer comes on your finger. So it’s mostly fake. You can also heat the foil on the spoon. The pure silver leaves will turn into glowing balls, while the aluminum foil will turn into gray ash.
Don’t forget to smell sweets before buying them in bulk. If it is stale, it will taste sour and smell musty. If you want to make sweets at home. So don’t forget to rub some khoya on your thumb nails. If it is pure, you can smell the aroma of ghee. You can check whether the mawa is pure or not by adding some sugar to the mawa and heating it. If you feel that water is coming out of Mawa, it means that it is fake. To check whether your sweets contain detergent or not, you need to dissolve it in water and shake it vigorously. If foam forms in it, then it is adulterated.
