Ingredients to make red dosa
Rice – 3 cups
Urad Dal (washed) – 1 cup
Beetroot – 1
Baking soda – 3/4 tsp
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Whole red chili – 2
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
oil – as needed
salt – as per taste
Red Dosa Recipe
To make red dosa full of taste and nutrition, first of all clean and wash urad dal and rice. After this, keep both of them soaked in water overnight. In the morning, remove excess water from dal and rice, transfer them to a mixer and grind them to make a smooth paste. Now take out the prepared paste in a deep bottom vessel. After this cut the beetroot into pieces and grind them in the mixer along with cumin seeds and whole red chillies.
Keep in mind that while making beetroot paste, do not add extra water to it. After the smooth paste of beetroot is ready, add it to the dal-rice mixture and mix well. After this, put a pinch of asafoetida in the dosa batter and mix it properly. After mixing the beetroot paste well in the dosa batter, the color of the batter will turn pink.

Now heat a nonstick pan/tawa on medium heat. After the tawa is hot, spread some oil on it. After this, take dosa batter in a bowl and pour it in the center of the griddle and spread it in a round shape. After roasting the dosa for some time, pour oil on the edge and turn the dosa and roast it for some time. When the dosa becomes crispy, take it out on a plate. Similarly prepare all the red dosas. Tasty and healthy red dosa is ready for breakfast. Serve it with sambar.
